FreeBSD 5.0 un vēlāk versijas, pēc noklusējuma, inetd ir atspējota.Šādas metodes ir efektīvas.
/etc/rc.conf
inetd_enable="YES"
Ja nepieciešams
/etc/inetd.conf un pēc tam restartējiet to, vai izmaiņas. # shutdown -r now
